Hollow Drops

A partially-air-filled droplet hits a surface, spreading into an unstable lamella and forming a counterjet.

The jet breaks the remainder of the hollow drop and rebounds from the surface.

The jet separates into satellite droplets that rise and wobble until gravity pulls them back down.
