Fish Schooling

Written by

Many factors could affect fish schooling, like vision, hydrodynamics, and chemical signals.
In this experiment, researchers test the importance of vision by observing fish schooling in light (well-ordered) and without light (order is lost).
As the illumination increases (from darkness), the order in the school of fish increases, too, demonstrating that vision is an important component for this species.
