Alhambra

The Alhambra Palace in Grenada, Spain features heated flooring, forced cooling, and fountains that tell time -- all dating back to medieval times.
Clever positioning of pipes and siphons made the twelve lions of this fountain release water according to the hour of the day.
In the baths, heated water passed through the flooring to warm the marble before filling the steam room.
